Aging in Place

An Alternative to Independent or Assisted Living

What is Aging in Place?

Aging-in-place means living in one's home safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age, income or ability level.

It is an alternative to independent or assisted living.

It means the pleasure of remaining in a familiar environment throughout one's maturing years.  It gives you the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives.

It means the reassurance of being able to call a house a home for a lifetime.

Before you decide to move to an alternative living arrangement, talk with Albright Remodeling about what we can do to help you stay in the home and neighborhood you love.

Perhaps remodeling a family member's home is an option. Our article on shared housing provides more information. Samples of typical aging-in-place changes Albright has done are shown below.

We also have added in-law suites, bedrooms, family rooms, home offices, three season and sunrooms, hot tub rooms, garages, over-the-top additions, and whole-house extreme makeovers.

We specialize in using universal design to remodel to meet the needs of all ages. Check out our remodeling projects, too.

How does Aging in Place work?

Aging in Place projects range from installation of bath and shower grab bars and adjustment of countertop heights to the creation of multi-functional first-floor master suites and the installation of private elevators.

Advances in designs, tools, appliances and technology make this possible for more people than ever before.
