Albright Remodelings Window and Door Installation ProcessWindow and door installation typically falls into one of two categories:A. New construction, as in a new home or addition. B. Replacement of existing doors and windows. In both cases, selection of a high quality window and installing it properly are of primary importance. A lengthy study of window and door failure carried out by Pella Corporation found that the majority of the failures they investigated were not caused by the products themselves, but rather by incorrect or careless installation. In response they created the Certified Pella Contractor® program to train interested contractors in the proper installation of Pella products. All our window and door installers have attended this training and the ongoing training updates required by Pella to maintain Albright Remodelings Certified Pella Contractor® status. Andersen has a similar program, the Andersen Qualified Remodelers program, in which we also participate. Here is a brief overview of how Albright Remodeling carries out our window and door installations. We start with a customer visit to either a Pella Window Store or an Andersen Window and Door Center. Here a knowledgeable sales representative acquaints the prospective buyer with all the different features and options of the window and door product line, helping to select the product which will best meet the customer’s needs. Once the product has been delivered to the construction site, the critical installation process begins:
If the customer is replacing windows in an existing home, a choice is possible between full-frame replacement where all of the old window is removed, including interior and exterior trim, and pocket replacement, where only the sashes are removed and a new window system is installed with modern balances, low-E glass and other options. Pocket replacement is appropriate when one does not wish to replace existing interior trim or disturb exterior sliding surfaces; however, it does result in some reduction in glass area. In either case, Albright Remodeling will install the product carefully according to factory specifications and to your complete satisfaction. Many stores now offer installed sales, but your best value will most often be found in dealing with Albright Remodeling, where you can relax in the confidence that all of our installers are factory-certified. (Many installed sales people are just subcontractors for the stores. Very few, if any, stores have a full-time staff that work directly for them.) With Albright Remodeling, you are dealing directly with the company owner, not paying a salesman’s commission, and not paying inflated store installed prices.
